PORTFOLIO SUBMISSION TERMS
Current as of May 17, 2024
We’re excited that you are interested in submitting your portfolio for review as a potential freelance artist with Wizards of the Coast! For your submission to be accepted for review, you must agree to these Portfolio Submission Terms (“Terms”). If you disagree with any Terms, you may not submit your portfolio for review. Failure to read through or comprehend these Terms thoroughly does not constitute a waiver of any of the Terms. If you have a question about any of the Terms, please contact us before submitting your portfolio.
- WE WILL NOT SHARE YOUR INFORMATION. When you share your portfolio and personal information, you are sending it securely to our servers and we will not share any information we receive with anyone outside of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro.
- YOUR WORK MUST BE YOUR OWN. You, as the submitter of the work in the portfolio, are representing that you alone are the creator and owner of each piece of submitted work in the portfolio (unless your portfolio clearly indicates those pieces that are the product of multiple artists; see #4 below) and that you have not infringed on any other creator’s work. You are also representing that you did not use AI tools in the creation of any of the submitted work. Wizards will not consider any portfolio that contains work created with generative AI.
- YOUR WORK MUST BE ACCESSIBLE. Should your portfolio contain work that is locked by password or other means, or if it is discovered that your work was shared despite being under NDA, we cannot consider your portfolio.
- MULTIPLE ARTISTS. You may not submit work that is the product of two or more artists, even if you did the majority of the work yourself. Your portfolio must be yours alone so that we can adequately review whether your work is a good fit for our projects. If your portfolio is hosted on an outside website that contains collaborative works between yourself and one or more other artists, those works must be clearly indicated on your website so that we can properly review your own work.
- FAN ART. We encourage and accept fan art, including fan art created for IP other than Wizards’. However, your portfolio must include more than fan art alone. If there is a question as to the origin of any fan art in your portfolio—as in, the style used for the included fan art varies greatly from your other included work—we might decline to consider the portfolio.
- NO GUARANTEE. We sincerely appreciate your submission and will review any portfolio that we receive that adheres to these Terms. However, note that submitting your portfolio does not guarantee that you will be contacted for work.
- RESUBMISSION. We understand that your portfolio will evolve (and so will our project needs!), and we encourage you to resubmit your work for consideration if:
- Your last submission was more than six (6) months prior, or
- Your portfolio contents have been significantly updated, showing new variety in style or additional skills, since your last submission.
- ABUSE OF THIS TOOL. Abusive behavior, such as spamming the submission form, continually submitting portfolios containing highly graphic, obscene, or offensive material (as determined by our reviewers), repeatedly contacting any Wizards or Hasbro employee for information on the status of a submission, or any other form of harassment, may result in your email address or IP address being blocked from future submissions. We reserve the right to respond to any abusive tactics as we deem necessary, though we sincerely hope this never happens!
